As we set off from Murghab for the third and final act of the Pamir spectacle, the highest pass is still ahead of us: The 4655 m high Ak-Baital Pass. We adapt to the weather, trying to avoid the cold headwind and potential snowstorms as much as possible. For the nights, we seek shelter in the lonely house of a small Kyrgyz family or with the Tajik border guards. And although we could have been more unlucky, we do not always manage to agree on all the decisions to be made without conflict. When we finally reach the Kyrgyz border on the Kyzyl-Art Pass, which is occupied by an army of marmots, the worst is over and we have three great days ahead of us: Over 235 km we descend over 3000 m!
