It is definitely not a country like any other we’ve been traveling through after crossing from Cyprus to Tel Aviv! The last two weeks have really been exceptionally eventful and exciting: We were treated to multiple overnight stays at Warmshowers, got a factory tour at Beth El Industries, and biked past "Stop! Border Ahead" signs at the border with Lebanon. We spent Christmas in a tent, mainly in bad weather, but then we went up to the Golan Heights with its minefields near the Syrian border. Finally, in the West Bank, we had discussions with the Israeli army, pushed our bikes through the narrow streets of Nablus, and stumbled into an evening Fatah rally in Jericho. So in this episode, we get the full blast of Middle East conflict (as usual, of course, not without an explanation of the background) and at the same time the reaffirmation: Usually, people on both sides of the walls and fences are friendly and nice!
We always appreciate your critisism, praise and other suggestions or hints and invite you to send us them via hi@zweiradlertouren.de!
We are going to get on our bicycles once again and further collect kilometers :-)
See you again soon!
