Here are the results from the group poll of the Cycling East / Silk Road WhatsApp group, conducted in October/November 2025.
A total of 85 members participated. This is about 11% of all members and about 40% of all active members (those that wrote a message between 15th June and 15th November).

Many participants supplied their rough locations. A map of these can be seen here.
Further, some useful route maps, with info for road conditions etc. made by the participants are gathered here.

This survey was designed, prepared, conducted and evaluated under the aegis of Cycling East group admin Felix Puff (@radelix_and_rebikkey on Instagram)!
It is not the work of Belinda and Tizian from Zweiradler-Touren, we merely provided the webspace to publish the results.

For the results from other years, see here.

Most people aren’t on a strict diet; however, several try to avoid meat. A few are strict vegetarians and only very few are vegans.

Almost all people prepare a meal by themselves (cooking or oat flakes or just a sandwich) at least once a day. The amount of time people go to restaurants is quite wide spread with many people almost never going and many going daily.

Note: Many people said that the number of times they went to eat out depended largely on where they travel. Many said that in China and SE Asia they quit cooking altogether because going out was so cheap. So take all these results with a grain of salt.

Pasta and bread are used most commonly, when people prepare a meal themselves. Lentils, rice and just veggie stews or veggie salads are also common meals. Instant noodles are also very common, however other dehydrated meals are quite rare. Only few people use meat when cooking themselves.
