Rückkehr nach Europa Teil II: Moskau und St. Petersburg.
After seven days on the Trans-Siberian Railway, we arrive in Moscow in rain, wind and cold. So our first stop is the Cosmonautics Museum, which proves worthwhile not only as a refuge from the weather outside. Eventually, we brave the icy wind to wander through the grounds of the VDNKh, across Red Square and follow the Moskva River down to Gorky Park. After two nights, we return to the train station and take another night train to the beautiful old imperial city of St. Petersburg with its countless magnificent buildings and palaces. In St. Petersburg, we finally get back on our bicycles and cycle the 180 km to the Estonian border in two and a half days. 1280 days after we had last left, we finally re-enter the EU near the city of Narva and already feel almost at home again, even though we still have several thousand kilometers ahead of us.
