FAQ: Visa for Russia
Russia: From the Caucasus to the Volga Delta

This report’s podcast is only available in german: Russland: Vom Kaukasus zum Wolgadelta.
Initially, Russia was primarily planned as a transit country for us in order to get from Georgia to Central Asia as fast as possible. However, as it turned out, this attitude does not do justice to the country. The very various regions and cities were diverse and the people were no less hospitable than anywhere else on our tour so far. Ingush invited us for lunch, Chechens saved us from icy nights in tents and Dimitri introduced us to the world of the Russian sauna (the ‘banya’). In between, we cycled through Kalmykia, the only region in geographical Europe that is predominantly inhabited by Buddhists. We even could have spent a little more time in Russia, but in the end, the tailwind in the direction of Kazakhstan was too tempting after all …
We always appreciate your critisism, praise and other suggestions or hints and invite you to send us them via hi@zweiradlertouren.de!
We are going to get on our bicycles once again and further collect kilometers :-)
See you again soon!
