Gravel Race and Soviet Grace

After Kars, we visit Ani, the capital of the medieval Great Armenian Empire, which can be reached via a 45-kilometer dead-end road. Dead end? We don’t like that! Instead, we prefer to cycle north along dirt roads and fields in the Turkish-Armenian border area. While here the warnings of locals are still partly comprehensible, we are very glad to follow the credo ‘never trust local advice’ at Lake Çıldır. In Georgia, we cycle the gravel passes we have expected, but the country also has it’s surprises: Hardly a day goes by when we don’t meet any other bike travelers (we even ride together with Almut and Leon for two days) and the weather and flora are so tropical at times that we already think we are in Southeast Asia – also Tskaltubo, a kind of Soviet Angkor Wat, contributes to this.
We always appreciate your critisism, praise and other suggestions or hints and invite you to send us them via hi@zweiradlertouren.de!
We are going to get on our bicycles once again and further collect kilometers :-)
See you again soon!
