Cycling the Ho Chi Minh Highway

This report’s podcast is only available in german: Auf dem Ho-Chi-Minh-Highway.
A narrow highway leading hundreds of kilometers through remote mountain regions, built decades ago for military purposes by a communist regime and then exploited for propaganda purposes, along which only a few people live a simple life in relative isolation and on which there is very little traffic. No, we are not talking about the Pamir Highway, but given these attributes one could certainly speak of the ‘Pamir Highway of Southeast Asia’. It is a road with the similarly sonorous name ‘Ho Chi Minh Highway’, which we have cycled over 560 km on in the last few days. The biggest difference to the Pamir Highway: It does not lead through high mountain deserts, but through dense, untouched jungle as far as the eye can see. Who has seen this route has seen the best of Vietnam (at least from the cyclist’s perspective) – and can relax on the beach for the rest of their visa period with a clear conscience and recover from all the ascents!
We always appreciate your critisism, praise and other suggestions or hints and invite you to send us them via hi@zweiradlertouren.de!
We are going to get on our bicycles once again and further collect kilometers :-)
See you again soon!
