Country Background to Kazakhstan
A Glimpse into the East of Kazakhstan
Published on 03.07.2024, 15:26 in Zharkent, Kazakhstan
This report’s podcast is only available in german: Ein Blick in Kasachstans Osten.
Shortly before the Kazakh border, Kyrgyzstan bids us farewell with another heavy and painful hailstorm, but luckily we can count on the hospitality of the locals, who save us from having to camp on the now wet and muddy meadows. Kazakhstan is now again primarily a transit country for us, but at least it is not quite as desolate as it was back then on the Caspian Sea. We cross the Temirlik Canyon, which is really worth seeing, visit Almaty, the city with the most westerly appearance since Central Europe, and even the open steppe is much, much greener here than in western Kazakhstan – so green that we always put up our tent in the shade of tall trees! If that isn’t a positive surprise!
We always appreciate your critisism, praise and other suggestions or hints and invite you to send us them via hi@zweiradlertouren.de!
We are going to get on our bicycles once again and further collect kilometers :-)
See you again soon!
