After our ‘odyssey’ crisscrossing Georgia and Armenia, we have now reached our big interim destination: Tbilisi. Here we will spend the cold winter in a warm room and subject our bikes and gear to a much needed general overhaul after more than 18,000 kilometers. This episode, however, is still mainly about the last days before our arrival in Tbilisi. The Abano Pass was not really on our list, but since we still had enough time and were already in the area, we checked out how far one can climb this famous and spectacular pass at this time of the year. We also report on our arrival in Tbilisi and chat a bit about our kitchen gear in the FAQ section.
