After southern Slovenia we enter Croatia and ride along the Kupa River – officially finding ourselves in the Balkans. In addition to pretty roads in the backcountry reminiscent of bike paths, Croatia offers us politically controversial sweets, an abandoned military airport (reminiscent of the rebel base from Star Wars on Yavin IV), destroyed houses, monuments and bullet holes from the Croatian War. And thus, in this episode, we not only get into our little history excursion on the Byzantine Empire, but also feel obligated to cover a little bit of the background of the Croatian War. Even though if then this episode including the FAQ part is quite packed ;).
