We’re back! On Sunday, July 5, 2026, at 4:00 pm, we cross the start-finish line of our tour in front of Karlsruhe Palace — exactly where we began this tour more than four years ago, on July 2, 2022, at 12:00 pm. Our final leg took us diagonally across Germany: from Usedom in the far northeast, through Berlin and Halle, along the Saale, Main, and Neckar rivers, all the way to our home in the Black Forest in the far southwest! In this episode, we’ll talk about this final leg and the last three weeks of our tour. We describe what it feels like to return to Germany for the first time in four years and how Germany made an impression on us. We share stories of encounters with people who are impressed that we plan to cover the entire distance to Karlsruhe by bike (without an electric motor!). But we’ll also talk about many get-togethers with old and new friends who find themselves in situations very similar to ours (soon), which naturally leads to conversations that couldn’t be more on the same wavelength. We’ll also announce that the end of our tour doesn’t quite mean the end of our podcast — so you’ll be hearing from us again even after this episode!
