The Armenians (With David) II
September in Armenia: Hot Summer, Wet Fall
Published on 17.09.2023, 19:58 in Marneuli, Georgia
This report’s podcast is only available in german: September in Armenien: Heißer Sommer, nasser Herbst.
September is hot in Armenia. We cycle through steppes and sometimes almost desert-like landscapes from Yerevan to the southeast. We marvel at the ‘Symphony of Stones’ and learn that ‘Lavash’ means something completely different in Armenia than in Albania. Near Areni we meet again Almut and Leon and explore together the spectacular gorge of the Noravank monastery. September is cool and wet in Armenia. At Lake Sevan we are caught in the middle of the night by a hailstorm so violent that after a few seconds we are dripping wet and freezing in our sleeping bags. When three days later the next nightly rain is announced, we luckily find a dry waiting room of a gas station, where we are allowed to sleep.
We always appreciate your critisism, praise and other suggestions or hints and invite you to send us them via hi@zweiradlertouren.de!
We are going to get on our bicycles once again and further collect kilometers :-)
See you again soon!
