Over challenging Alpine passes and annoyed by pointless Italian road works and their cyclist-unfriendly detours, we finally get from Austria via Italy to Slovenia and out of the Alps into the heat of the plains. Shortly before the Slovenian border happens the first bicycle accident of the route – we are quite unnerved by the events of the last days. Nevertheless, we draw a thoroughly positive conclusion about our successful crossing of the Alps.
